Biofilm inhibitory potential of Oscillatoria tenuis against Candida albicans

چکیده
Prokaryotic autotrophs have a key role in maintaining the sustainability of nature. Their secondary metabolites and stored chemicals wide utility human life. Cyanophytes, primitive producers, can become necessity modern world as they enormous unexplored features. Candida albicans, an opportunistic pathogen having multidrug resistance, fallout health concerns animal hosts. This study focused on antibiofilm potential Oscillatoria tenuis NTAPD 02, isolated from hydrocarbon-polluted area against hyphal switching albicans. Ethanolic extract algal sample, OEE, was taken to perform biofilm quantification test CLSM studies determine The MBIC for OEE found be 30 µg/mL C. albicans also shows 70.8% reduction fungal biofilm. GC-MS FTIR analysis illustrates presence potent phenolic hydrocarbons anti-proliferative effect. stress generative elegans (500 µg/mL). ROS generation worms intensified by increased concentration OEE. proves that tenuis, considered alga invasions.

Inhibitory Effect of Fluconazole Combined with Amphotericin B on Fluconazole-Resistant Candida albicans Biofilm Formation
Background & Objective: The incidence of biofilm-related infections caused by Candida albicans has increased dramatically. C. albicans biofilm-related infections are more resistant to antifungal medications. This work was an attempt to examine inhibitory effects of fluconazole in combination with amphotericin B on fluconazole-resistant C. albicans biofilm. Materials & Methods: Fluconazole-...
متن کاملThe Antifungal Effect of Endocyn Against Candida albicans Biofilm
Introduction: Endocyn, a super-oxidized water-based irrigation solution, has been reported to be non-toxic against mammalian cells, yet highly efficacious against bacteria; however, its effect against fungi and fungal biofilms remain unknown. This study evaluated the antifungal efficacy of Endocyn compared to sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and chlorhexidine (CHX). Methods: An in vitro biofilm syst...

Biofilm formation plays a key role in the life cycles and subsistence of many microorganisms. For the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans, biofilm development is arguably a virulence trait, because medical implants that serve as biofilm substrates are significant risk factors for infection. The development of C. albicans biofilms in vitro proceeds through an early phase, in which yeast cells...
متن کاملCharacteristics of biofilm formation by Candida albicans.
A variety of manifestations of Candida albicans infections are associated with the formation of biofilms on the surface of biomaterials. Cells in biofilms display phenotypic traits that are dramatically different from their free-floating planktonic counterparts, such as increased resistance to anti-microbial agents and protection form host defenses. Here, we describe the characteristics of C. a...
متن کاملPrevention of Candida albicans Biofilm Formation
Biofilm formation is often considered to be the underlying reason why treatment with an antimicrobial agent fails and as an estimated 65-80% of all infections is thought to be biofilm-related, this presents a serious challenge. Considerable attention has been devoted to the development of modified materials that prevent (or at least drastically reduce) microbial biofilm formation. In this revie...
